MAIN MAST EXTENSION
MAIN MAST EXTENSION

After the installation of the Ecowind system on the vessel, modifications were carried out on the main mast, including its extension and the adjustment of the navigation lights to comply with applicable regulations. Due to the installation of Ecowind, the original mast height was insufficient, which could have affected the visibility of the navigation lights and their compliance with the requirements of the COLREG Convention and classification society regulations. To ensure full visibility of the lights within the required sectors and to prevent them from being obstructed by the new structure, the decision was made to extend the mast and relocate the lights to a higher position.
The scope of work included a technical analysis of the existing mast, designing and executing its extension, installing new brackets, and repositioning the navigation lights. Additionally, it was necessary to adjust the electrical system by routing new power cables and performing tests to verify the proper functioning of the lights. All modifications were carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the maritime administration and classification society, ensuring full regulatory compliance and maintaining a high level of navigational safety.
